Physical activities should be introduced to children at an early age. Physical activities include dance, games and exercise. Physical activities aid in chanelising energies in a positive way.


Dancing is a great way for your child to get active and develop physical co-ordination skills, strength and concentration. It’s also great fun and a good way to meet other children and their parents. Furthermore dancing can become a much-loved hobby your child could carry on enjoying well into adulthood, for fun or even at a more professional level.


Dance embodies one of our most primal relationships to the universe.It is innate in children before they possess command over language. Children move naturally.They move to achieve mobility, to express a thought or a feeling and because it is joyful and feels wonderful. When their movement becomes consciously structured and is performed with awareness for its own sake it becomes dance.Children learn movement patterns as readily as they learn language.Dance is a powerful ally for developing many of the attributes of a growing child. It helps children mature socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively.It promotes psychological health and maturity. It also fosters social encounter,interaction and co-operation.


Early dance classes are a good way to introduce your child physical exercise, fundamental in keeping them happy and healthy as they grow up. We all know that dance promotes positive energies. Children will also be learning key skills such as co-ordination, balance, flexibility, strength, stamina, discipline and even memory. Even very small toddlers can enjoy the experience of dance. Dancing utilizes the entire body and is an excellent form of exercise for total body fitness. Young children are naturally active, but dance offers an avenue to expand movement possibilities and skills.


There are lots of relaxed music and movement groups for little ones which provide a great way for them to learn about their body’s capabilities and move around to the music, as well as having a thoroughly fun time jumping around in a spacious and safe environment.


Our culture is rich in heritage and dance forms. Our festivals are incomplete without music and dance. Children enjoy the foot tapping music and a little encouragement will help them sway to the rhythmic beats. Traditional Indian folk dances are a great way to ensure that children stay connected with our culture. The energetic Bhangda, Garba and dandiya dance forms are full of life and colour. These dance forms are also therapeutic.


We, adults should shed our inhibitions and dance with children. As children watch adults/ parents around them dance (it may seem silly to us) but it encourages children. Dancing should also be fully encouraged! It’s a great way for both you and your child to have a real giggle together, get that blood flowing and release some good mood-boosting harmones. Seeing you dance in extravagant, silly style will truly delight your child and will show them just how life-enhancing music and dance can be.


Like all other forms of learning and exploring,so in dance start early , start young. Start at home with rhythmic claps, snapping of fingers and watch your little ones take off. Music and dance are the greatest stress busters for all ages. So let us teach our children to dance their way through life.
